Teens on the Scene — Synchronized Swimmer, Raquel Boales, Making Waves
Raquel Boales was born with a birth injury which resulted in a disability called Erbs Palsy. She also struggles with ADHD. Raquel used aquatics therapy for healing, and found out later, at age 9, that synchronized swimming was much more beneficial. She currently swims for the Santa Clara Aquamaids and is an Int’l Champion for Synchro AWD.
Because synchronized swimming changed her life, Raquel then wanted to share it with other people who are challenged by physical handicaps. She and her mom, Tina, head up an organization known as Adults With Disabilities (AWD) Synchronized Swim. Raquel travels around the world to spread awareness and to participate in AWD exhibitions. More details in this fascinating video.
This is what Teens on the Scene are doing in our world today.
