I’ve been privileged to have served in youth ministry for 18 years! That’s a long time. That’s a lot of students.
The unique aspect of working with youth is unlike any other ministry, in that we have them for a short while and then they’re gone. Every spring, we must say good-bye to our seniors. It’s never easy. I grieve to see them go. I thrill to see how God will lead and guide their lives and take them to new and exciting heights.
Our church has two campuses. Each campus has two separate small groups. Below is a photo of the five seniors graduating out of the group with whom I serve. The guy in the middle is my leader/partner for our group. (Yes I’m the shorty on the end. They usually outgrow me by the time they finish 7th grade, if not before. LOL)
These five have taught me so much. They have become apt disciples, and each one has moved into a leadership position. I’m so proud of them. And love them more than words can express.
I spotlight them in this post because they truly are “Teens on the Scene.” Not just for me, but for the greater community in which they will now serve.
