What About the Late Bloomers?

Those of you who follow my blog know that I sometimes feature what today’s famous people were doing in their teenage years. Some were very precocious. But what about the late bloomers?

Anne Morrow Lindbergh would fit that category.

Anne was married to one of the most famous aviators of all time – Charles Lindbergh — the man who made history as he successfully flew the first transatlantic flight in 1927.

Many Accomplishments

By the time Anne left this world in 2001, she had become famous as an aviator (she could fly, navigate, and operate radio), as she made round-the-world flights with her husband. She raised a family of five children while living in many parts of the world; and eventually became a best-selling author. Many accomplishments to her credit

“Shiest, Most Self-Conscious…”

But now listen to what she has to say about her teen years:

“I was the youngest, shiest, most self-conscious adolescent that – I believe – ever lived. In addition, I have to confess that my adolescence lasted a phenomenally long time…”
